Minutes from the Chillicothe Mo. meeting

The next regular meeting of BRS Local 20 will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Comfort Inn And Suites, 6169 Reve Court, Hwy. 61 South, Ft. Madison, IA. Reservations may be made by calling 319-372-6800.

Here are brief minutes from our previous meeting held in Chillicothe, MO. Feb. 25, 2012.
The meeting opened at 8:30 a.m. with 14 members and 2 guests present. As of that meeting there was $54535.54 in checking and c.d.’s in the amount of $21433.71 in our treasury. Minutes were read from our previous meeting and approved.

Joe Baker reported on a waiver and 1 year probation for a member. Joe also discussed policy concerning vehicle accidents, as well as hours of service requirements. It looks like the company is getting very picky on the time frame to report our hours.

Don Levell reported on M.O.W. and gas line work. He also reported on the Chili relief maintainer not getting the Chicago pay differential when on the 4 territories outside the Chicago area. He also reported there was money for 4 more new hires.

General Chairman Mike Dake reported on the back pay and pay raise issues, along with the lump sum payment, as well as extra pay increases for monthly rated and crew members coming in June. He also discussed phasing out contractors, the possibility of extending PTC deadlines until 2020. Mike also discussed DOT issues the company has brought up. He also discussed the issue of no pay for members attending investigations, and the result being the Brotherhood has stopped working 8 days on and 6 off for on district crews. Mike also talked about vacation issues, and off duty medical issues that the carrier wants to know about before returning to work.

Guest Drew Baebler discussed claims for injuries, and empowerment.

I would like to remind everyone nominations for the election of our Local’s officers continues through this meeting. After this meeting I will be sending out ballots with instructions. I hope to see a lot of members at the meeting, and would like to remind members to let me know if you would like the newsletter sent to your home e-mail. This really saves our local money, as well as time. Thanks for your help.

Fraternally,
